Violet Melinda Chapman, 80

Violet Melinda Chapman, 80, of Blackfoot passed away Saturday, Nov.24, 2012 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
 Violet was born Jan. 30, 1932 in Hurricane Valley, Ariz., to Duncan Gunderson Marchant and Sadie Higley.  She attended grade school in Roosevelt, Utah, and high school in Rainier, Ore.
 On Nov.13, 1957 Violet married Roy H. Kimmel in Stevenson, Wash.  They were later sealed on Aug. 23, 1968 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.  Roy preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2009.  On June 12, 2009 she married Don Chapman in Blackfoot.
Violet was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served as Primary president, Primary teacher and as a visiting teacher. 
She worked as a waitress, truck driver, craft store operator, as a checker at a grocery store in Texas and at St. Helens, Ore.  She was also a reporter for a newspaper in Pine Grove, Ore., and a member of Pine Grove Community Club, where she served as vice president.  In her free time she enjoyed making pillow shams, crocheting and helping family.
 Violet is survived by her husband, Don H. Chapman of Blackfoot; children, Linda (Russ) Lingenfelter of Rapid City, S.D.; Dennis Kimmel of Pensacola, Fla., David (Diana) Barton of Vancouver, Wash.; Duane Kimmel of Portland, Ore.; Daniel Kimmel of Independence, Ore. and David (Tammy) Kimmel of Blackfoot; sister, Beulah Blades of Portland, Ore.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
 She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy H. Kimmel; daughter, Bonnie Edward; her parents; sister, Dora Marshall; and brothers, Sharon Marchant, Edward H. Marchant and Roy Allen Marchant.
 A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec.1, 2012 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot with Bishop Soucie conducting. 
Family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at the Grove City Cemetery in Blackfoot.  Condolences may be sent to the family at
