NAMPA — The Snake River Lady Panthers overcame a sluggish start and some ferocious defense from the South Fremont Lady Cougars to earn a shot at the 3A state championship on Saturday afternoon at the Nampa Center.
The Panthers battled for most of the game before securing a lead late to prevail by the final of 39-33 behind senior Kelsey Higginson’s 20 points and six assists lead.
The final buzzer would sound, sending the Panther on to the championship game by the score of 39-33 over the Cougars.
“I am just ecstatic with this win,” Coach Jeff Steadman said. “These girls have made us so proud with their effort and play and tonight was a prime example of how they just keep coming back time and time again.”
