“The Drowsy Chaperone,” a comedy within a musical, opens this evening, Friday, March 2, in the Little Theater in Shelley High School. The 28-member cast and crew really sold this musical. They are ready to go and will give audiences a delightful musical.
The musical has big numbers and cast of strong musicians with lots of surprises.
This is the final production that will be conducted Camille Gold, Shelley High School Theater Arts and Speech teacher.
Gold has directed plays and musicals for 10 years.
“I wanted to leave while I still love it; before I burned out,” she said. “My youngest daughter is graduating this year so it is a good time for me to take a break from directing, at least for awhile. I want to discover if there is something else to do at 4 o’clock besides be in rehearsal.”
Doors for this all-school musical open at 6:20 p.m.; the show begins at 7 p.m. Seats are $6 per person. On each Tuesday, March 6 and 13, tickets cost $5.
“The Drowsy Chaperone” will be performed on Friday and Saturday, March 2 and 3; Monday and Tuesday, March 5 and 6; Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10; and Monday and Tuesday, March 12 and 13.
