Cloda Neeley McCrory

Cloda Neeley McCrory 88, of Blackfoot passed away quietly at her home surrounded by those she loved on Oct. 12, 2010.  She was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Preston to Elmer and LaVern Orchard Neeley. She graduated from Pocatello High School in 1939.  She married Orville F. (Mac) McCrory in 1942. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Mother lived with her parents in Blackfoot until Dad returned from the war. During that time, their first daughter Susan was born. When Dad returned from the war, he and Mother moved to Pocatello for a short time and then back to Blackfoot. It was there that second daughter Jeannie was born, followed by son Robbin, and then youngest daughter Jody. Blackfoot continued to be Mother’s home until, because of illness, she was no longer able to live alone. She lived at 122 North Shilling for 47 years.
Mother was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She spent the majority of her life attending the Blackfoot 11th Ward. She was an active temple patron and also held many positions in the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society organizations. She was a visiting teacher most of her life and loved her calling and those she visited.
Mother worked in various vocations for many years, including Arnell’s Drug Store in downtown Blackfoot. She also worked at the Bingham County Court House in the Auto Licensing Department for 17 years. She retired in 1996.           .
Mother enjoyed reading, walking, dancing, serving others and most importantly being with her family and making their home a heaven on earth. In addition to her life as a wife and mother, she enjoyed many years of close associations with her seven sisters and two brothers. They were all her best friends.
Mother is survived by her children, Susan Kubal of Ammon; Jeannie (Rick) Hansen of Idaho Falls; Rob McCrory (Judy) of Heber City, Utah; and Jody McCrory of West Jordan, Utah.  She is the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by seven sisters and one brother. Preceding her in death was her husband Mac, her parents (Elmer & Lavern Neeley), one brother (Paul Neeley), a sister (Alma Neeley), and two grandsons (Jason Young and Rickie Paul Hansen).
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th Street in Idaho Falls. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. A private interment will be at the Grove City Cemetery in Blackfoot.
