Bronco tennis rolls over Diggers

BLACKFOOT — The Blackfoot tennis team cruised by the Sugar-Salem Diggers on Wednesday with the boys squad winning 5.5 - .5 and the girls team pulling out a 3.5 - 2.5 victory.
"Over all it was a great win for us, we did very well on the day," Blackfoot head coach Brint Jefferis said. "Our freshman are playing really well and our doubles were real strong for us today."
The Boys got a sweep of both the boys singles and the boys doubles matches on the afternoon. Justin Cannon, Tyler Cannon and Marc Matsuura each cruised in their singles matches with none of the them allowing more than 1 game to the opposition.
The doubles teams were equally impressive as Will Woods and Bobby Cannon blitzed their opponents 6-0, 6-1 and the freshman tandem of Jacob Harris and Tanner "Smoke" Norton remained perfect on the young season with a 6-1, 6-2 win.
On the girls side of the ledger the doubles teams each won 6-0, 6-0 for the Broncos. Ayla Lou and Meg Matsuura remained perfect together while Kendall Armstrong and Lindsey Loveland looked very impressive in their 6-0, 6-0 victory.
In the singles, Christy Hudson picked up a huge win 6-7, 6-3, 6-3 which sealed the team win for Blackfoot.
"I would say that the match of the day was Christy Hudson," coach Jefferis said. "She made her grand appearance at home in style with her parents watching her. It was great to have Christy hang in there after closely losing the first set and then coming back and handling her opponent in the second and third sets. It was a big win for Christy and I am proud of her."
Blackfoot will be back in action on Friday when they host Madison at 3:30 P.M.
