Blackfoot woman dies in crash

BLACKFOOT — A one vehicle fatality crash occurred early Wednesday morning.
At 3:16 a.m. on Oct. 2, 2013, the Idaho State Police investigated a one vehicle fatality crash northbound on I15 at mile marker 82.4, north of the Fort Hall Casino.
Dorothy D. Harris, 26, of Blackfoot, was traveling northbound on I15 in a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am when she drove off the left shoulder of the road and into the median. Harris drove back onto the roadway and overcorrected causing the vehicle to slide into the median where it overturned and rolled coming to rest in the southbound lanes of travel.
Harris was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle where she succumbed from her injuries.
Harris' toddler son, who was also in the vehicle and in an approved child safety seat, was transported by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center.
The southbound lanes of travel were blocked for about three hours.
