Ambulance staff to work at BMH

BLACKFOOT — An agreement to allow ambulance service employees to work at Bingham Memorial Hospital was finalized earlier this week and may be enacted later this month.
“Everything is pretty much ready to go,” Blackfoot Fire Chief Kevin Gray said.
The agreement was signed by Blackfoot Mayor Mike Virtue in October, and was finalized by the Bingham County commissioners this week. The agreement has also been agreed upon by BMH.
The agreement provides for backup ambulance personnel to work in the hospital’s emergency room, provide patient transport and provide assistance with patient care duties of which they are qualified. The Blackfoot Fire Department will staff a second ambulance at the hospital, with the primary ambulance located at the fire station.
The hospital will provide experience-based training for the ambulance personnel where they can develop new skills and fine-tune existing skills.
