BLACKFOOT — No one in Bingham County should have to go without a warm coat this year thanks to the success of the 6th annual 'coat drive' spearheaded by Blackfoot's "Bingham County Chiropractic." Organizers wrapped up the coat drive on Tuesday calling it "the most successful one yet."
"This was a great coat drive, better than years past," said Cari Garrett, office manager of Bingham County Chiropractic. "More businesses participated this year and we've received hundreds of clean, gently used coats and jackets."
The coats will be donated to the Bingham County Crisis Center. Dixie Chapman, executive director of the crisis center said, "The coat drive is a great way to give back to the community. So many coats were received this year that there is no reason why any man, woman or child should go without a warm coat this winter."
Organizers say that while the two-week thrust of the coat drive had ended, business sponsors of the coat drive and the Bingham County Crisis center will accept coats all year.
Sponsors of this year's coat drive are: Bingham County Chiropractic, Advanced Eye Care, Barnes Physical Therapy and Gold's Gym.
