Joseph E. Manzanarez, 81, of Blackfoot, passed away, Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 at the Bingham Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 24, 1932 in New Mexico, to Emiliano Manzanarez and Maria Carmen Perez. Joe was raised and attended school in Utah. During is lifetime he has lived in New Mexico, Utah, California, Nevada and moved to Blackfoot in 2004.
In 1962 Joe married Barbara Wilson; she preceded him in death on June 18, 2011.
Joe was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He worked in the mines while living in Nevada and worked for various farms in Blackfoot, Twin Falls, Pocatello and Utah.
Joe enjoyed being outdoors and loved the time he spent hunting and fishing.
He is survived by sons: Billy Manzanarez of Boise and Roger Manzanarez of Pocatello; daughters: Bonnie Cardenas of Austin, Texas, Maryann Manzanarez of Pocatello and Ellen Manzanarez of Blackfoot; one brother, David Manzanarez of Utah; one sister, Rosena Poole of California; eight grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, one son, Johnny, a stepson Wilson, his parents, one brother, Emiliano Jr. And one sister, Selena.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery.
