Mary Stanley Warren “Gram”, 91, of Fort Hall passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.
She was born July 19, 1922 in Carson City, Nev., the daughter of Opal Daisy Winnemucca and William Henry Stanley. She spent her childhood years in Burns, Ore. and Miller Creek, Nev.
In 1937, she married Raymond Warren in Nevada, then moved to Fort Hall and made it her permanent residence. Together they had five children.
Mary enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, hand games, card games and tanning hides.
She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to watch her grandchildren play sports; the NBA in which she adopted Michael Jordan as her grandson; Sanford and Son, but mainly watching her little great-grandchildren grow.
Gram was a very strong woman who outlived her husband, her five children and some grandchildren.
She brought joy, love and laughter to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; children, Elizabeth K. Sequints, Judy Warren Tissidimit, Betty Warren, Carleen Warren Benally and Leland Warren.
She is survived by her adopted daughter, Amanda (Calvin) Tso; Harry Chee (Mary’s son-in-law, adopted son) Xavier (Janet) Sequints, Brent (Loreen) Sequints, Leslie (Rhonda) Sequints, Lowinda (Billy) Sequints, Richard (Susan) Pohipe, Richmond Pohipe, Terry (Sheila) Yazzie, Randy (Devona) Pohipe, Reana (Brandon) Jim and Michael (Denise) Yazzie along with numerous great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren.
She will be taken to the family home on Broncho Road at 2 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013 and can be viewed until time of traditional burial at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the Gibson Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.
