Lou Ann Lee, 84, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
Lou Ann was born August 4, 1928 in Lubbock, Texas to Richard Henry Maxwell and Edna Hazel Ireland. She was raised in Texas and graduated from high school in Shallowater, Texas.
She married Kenneth “Ken” Lee in Lubbock, Texas. They lived in Lubbock, Texas, Murtaugh, Idaho, Salt Lake City, Utah, Odessa, Amarillo and Dallas, Texas, Boise, Idaho and for the last 15 years lived in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Lou Ann worked at Brookovers Clothing Store in Boise and at Angelton’s, and exclusive import store in Boise. She was a great mother and homemaker. In her free time she enjoyed working in her yard and flower gardens. She grew beautiful roses. She loved to read, going to the mountains and watching hummingbirds. Her favorite time was time spent with her family.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Relief Society worker, helping with humanitarian projects. She was also a Cub Scout leader.
Lou Ann is survived by her children, Rick (Becky) Lee of Payson, Utah, Kurt Lee of Boise, Idaho and Celesta (Larry) Murdock of Blackfoot, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; and 40 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ken; and sister, Bettie McEwen.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Blackfoot West Stake Center, corner of 900 West 100 North, with Bishop Bruce Reiche of the Thomas 2nd Ward conducting. The family will meet with friends at the church starting at 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in the Riverside Thomas Cemetery under the direction of the Hawker Funeral Home.
