Ann Lucille Jones, 80, of Groveland, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 at her home.
Lucille was born December 15, 1932 in Preston, Idaho, to Gale Cyrus and Annorah Taylor Andreasen. When she was young she lived in Nevada, Idaho and Utah, due to the construction work of her father.
Following graduation from high school she married John E. Jones on June 26, 1948 in Hailey, Idaho. After their marriage they made their home in Utah and then moved to Blackfoot.
John preceded her in death on January 31, 1997.
Lucille devoted her time and talents to her home and family as well as working part time in the lunch program for the Blackfoot School District. She also had worked in a potato warehouse and helped her husband on the farm and in the construction business building homes.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she had served as a Primary Teacher and dance instructor for the wards.
Lucille and John loved to square dance, they joined the square dance club and served as officers. Some of their best friendships were formed while square dancing. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing bingo and playing cards, her favorite being pinochle.
Lucille entertained a lot, loved to camp, fish and travel. She and John really enjoyed the cruises they went on.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie (Lyle) Campbell of Blackfoot; daughter-in-law, Tori Jones of Blackfoot; sister Dorma Lou (Johnson) Norton; seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Jones, son, Gale Evan Jones, her parents and one sister, Illa Mae Christensen.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 and again for one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery.
