BLACKFOOT — Everyone is looking for ways to stretch their dollar in these tough economic times. That is why business woman Heidi Sasser said she and her husband Dev Sasser decided to open 'Yesterday's Bread & More' in Blackfoot.
"We've been looking for a small business opportunity," said Sasser. "We realize people are pinching their pennies these days and we thought opening 'Yesterday's Bread' in Blackfoot would be a good way to help people save money and give back to the community."
'Yesterday's Bread & More' is independently owned by the Sassers, and serves as an outlet store for bakery goods that the big retail stores can't keep on their shelves. Besides loaves of bread, 'Yesterday's Bread & More' carries pastries, cookies, bagels, english muffins, chips and candy.
"These are the products that the big stores can't keep even though the products are still good and we are able to take them and sell them at a discounted price," Sasser said. "We are planning to add a cooler so we can carry cold drinks and eventually dairy products too."
The business, which opened July 9th, has seen a good stream of customers and Sasser said she hopes the business will continue to catch on as the word gets out throughout the community.
'Yesterday's Bread & More' is located at 1010 W. Bridge Street-Suite G across from Les Schwab in Blackfoot. Hours are Monday through Friday 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
