An accident involving a semi-trailer and a passenger car blocked a section of Highway 91 between Blackfoot and the south interchange at Exit 89 Friday morning.
Emergency crews from Blackfoot and Fort Hall were dispatched to the accident, which occurred at approximately 10 a.m. Officers from Idaho State Police, Blackfoot Police and the Bingham County Sheriff were also dispatched to assist.
Traffic was allowed through slowly after the accident, which left a Cadillac passenger car with severe damage and a semi-trailer resting on the northbound side of Highway 91. The semi-trailer was leaking diesel gasoline.
The driver and passenger in the Cadillac was transported to Portneuf Medical Center. The driver of the semi-trailer was not injured.
