Wanda Florentine Lutz, 84
Wanda Florentine Lutz, 84, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Portneuf Medical Center of natural causes.
Wanda was born March 19, 2014 in Hebron, Neb. to Martin L. Holtzen and Meta Aufdenkamp. She attended school in Nebraska, Twin Falls and Filer. She graduated from Filer High School in 1948.
On Feb. 4, 1951, Wanda married Bob Lutz in Clover, Idaho. They were later divorced.
She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church. Wanda was one of the original organizers of the Lutheran Bake Sale and was known for her famous rhubarb pie. She also made many rhubarb pies for the fair booth.
Wanda worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses as a one-woman operation. In her free time she enjoyed canning, gardening, flowers, reading, cooking and baking. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Steven Lutz of Blackfoot, Susan (Robert) Hardister of Boise, Connie (Stephen) Duechscher of Blackfoot, Carol (Mike) Shettler of Shoshone and Marjaorie Thomure of Blackfoot; daughter-in-law who was married to Tom, Charlene VanBuren; sister, Georgene Schlichting of Denver, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; son, Thomas; and sisters, LouAnn, Marcella and Adlyn.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1110 Parkway Drive in Blackfoot. Family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at the Grove City Cemetery.
