Vieto Sampson Appenay, 40
Vieto Sampson Appenay, 40, of Fort Hall passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at Portneuf Medical Center from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born June 10, 1973 in Blackfoot, the son of Arnold Appenay and Sandra Strombeck.
He lived most of his life in Fort Hall.Â He attended schools in Fort Hall and Blackfoot.Â He later attended high school at Flandreau Boarding School in South Dakota and graduated in 1991.
Vieto was a security guard at the Fort Hall Casino for the past 10 years.Â He also worked at Teepee gas station and various other positions for the Sho-Ban Tribes.
He was a member of the band Midnight Madness.Â They opened for Skid Row in Idaho Falls on March 4, 2004.Â He started riding motorcycles last year and never got off.Â He was a member of the Savages IMC of Fort Hall where he served as secretary.Â He also associated with other clubs such as Brother Speed, The Phâ€™its, and other independent riders.
Vieto enjoyed playing the guitar, working on cars, shooting and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his son, Nekhi DeRose (10) of Pocatello; father, Arnold Appenay of Ross Fork Creek; brothers, Carson (Tawyna) Watson of Roseburg, Ore.; Jason (Sonae) Watson of Fort Hall, Chet (Leslie) St. Clair of Fort Hall, Jay (Connie) Broncho of Ross Fork, Ray (Selesia) Broncho of Fort Hall, Warrior (Anita) Appenay of Pocatello, Jesse (Dolores) Bruce of Fort Hall,Â Jerry (Leanne) Bear of Skull Valley, Utah and Tad (Polly) Mitchell of Fort Hall; and sister, Mitzi Sabori of Fort Hall.Â He is also survived by his biker brothers and sisters and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Appenay; a brother, Ace Appenay, and maternal grandparents, Victor and Marrita Strombeck.Â
A prayer service was held Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot.
Â Â Vieto will then be taken out to the Mission Church on Monday at 10 a.m., Oct. 7, 2013 and will remain there until time of burial on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Mission Cemetery in Fort Hall.
