BLACKFOOT — Started in 1947, the Marine Corps Reserve is once again sponsoring Toys for Tots.
"We just want to make sure kids have a little bit of Christmas," said Bingham County Treasurer Janice Lawes.
New, unwrapped toys are being accepted until Thursday, Dec. 15, at the following locations:
° Bingham County Treasurer's Office in the Bingham County Courthouse
° Blackfoot Fire Department
° Cal Ranch° Family Dollar
° Idaho Central Credit Union
° Potelco United Credit Union
The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Campaign serves Bannock, Bingham, Bear Lake, Caribou, Franklin, Oneida and Power counties.
"We do our best to serve all who apply," said Phillip Hartman, "however, due to our current economic status, the need for a helping hand during this holiday season will be greater than ever before for many local families.
"We ask that only those families truly in need fill out the application." Hartman said.
Information for all children ages 16 and below living with the person making the request is on the form.
Income guidelines for the Toys for Tots Campaign are on the applications. Applications are available at the same locations where the toys can be dropped off.
