Smith pleads not guilty to murder charge

Charged with two felony counts, Melonie Smith appeared before Seventh Judicial District Judge Darren Simpson on Monday afternoon. The felony counts against Smith are: count one, murder in the first degree; count two: destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence.
Smith pleaded not guilty to both felony counts.
In court, Simpson read the charges against her and stated the sentences she could serve if she is found guilty.
