Shirley Fox Hager, 94, of Aberdeen passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Bingham Memorial Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Blackfoot of natural causes.
Shirley was born on June 6, 1917 in Downey. She was the fourth child of six born to Raymond and Mary Elizabeth Burrup Fox.Â Shirley was raised in Downey.
Shirley was married to Caleb Verl Vaughn where she had four children.Â They were later divorced.Â She then met and married John L. Hager who had three daughters and in this union added four sons.
John died on July 3, 1970. Shirley was a resident of Aberdeen and lived in the same home for 58 years.
Shirley was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Shirley loved fishing, gardening, cooking, canning and camping. She especially loved quilting and pieced many wonderful quilts for her children and grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her children, Sharon Parsons, Mary Jean Burry, Ben R. Vaughn, Judy Lefevre, Randy R. Hager and Bruce G. Hager; and a stepdaughter, Norma Davis.Â She was known as â€ťGrandma Tigerâ€ť to grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren..Â Â
Â She was preceded in death by two sons, John Kevan and Bryan Keith Hager; two stepdaughters, Donna Riedlinger and Sandra Rehn. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Glen, Floyd and Dean Fox; and sisters, Lennabell Kent and Elda Ray Orahood.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012, at the 2nd Ward Aberdeen LDS Church in Aberdeen.Â Family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the church.Â Interment will follow in the Aberdeen City Cemetery.Â
