Second-grader injured in collision with car

BLACKFOOT – Ridge Crest Elementary second-grader Enid McMahon was transported by ambulance to Bingham Memorial Hospital Tuesday after she was hit by a car near the school.
McMahon darted into traffic on Airport Road when walking home from school and hit the back end of a vehicle. According to her family, she sustained a compound fracture of the leg and was being prepared for surgery Tuesday evening.
"We encourage parents and everyone to slow down and be careful in school zones," said Ridge Crest Principal Colin Folsom.
Captain Kurt Asmus said the driver of the vehicle was not cited and encourages those crossing the street to look both ways and use crosswalks.
