River reclaims bike path

A bicyclist stops to look at the flooding at Rose Pond Wednesday evening. The path, which winds around the ponds, is flooded after a levee broke Friday. In Blackfoot, the Snake River was at 11 and one-half feet Wednesday evening and is expected to remain at that level through Saturday. The Snake River at Shelley fell below 12 and one-half feet Wednesday and is forecast to reach 12.61 feet Saturday. Major flood stage is 12.5 feet. Bingham County's Flood Emergency Operations Center can be reached at 785-8050 for information about the river's level and to request assistance.
