Richins to speak at Firth veterans' assembly on Thursday

Lt. Col. Dwight Richins received from Firth HIgh School teacher Stewart Portela in 2011 that recognized him for his military service. Richins is the speaker at this year's veterans' assembly that begins at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Firth High School gymnasium. Prelude music, played by the Community Orchestra, starts at 9:30 a.m.

The Firth High School Veterans' Assembly begins at 9:30 a.m. with prelude music played by the 60-member Community Orchestra. The assembly itself begins at 10 a.m.
This assembly is organized by Stewart Portela who teaches military history at Firth HIgh School and has written books that feature men and women from southeastern Idaho who have served in the military.
Lt. Col. Dwight Richins is the featured speaker. He is a veteran from Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan).
