Richard J Kirwan, 62

May 29, 2013

Rick was born March 22, 1951 at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada; he died May 25, 2013 in Boise. He was the second child born to Carma and Leo “Jack” Kirwan; his siblings, Brad Kirwan, Scott Kirwan, and Ann (Rhett) Petersen.
Rick grew up in the Blackfoot area and graduated from Snake River High School in 1969 and Idaho State University in 1973. Rick was a CPA and lived in Hayward, Calif.; Salem Ore.; Twin Falls; Pocatello; and Boise, where he resided for over 30 years.
Rick married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Cherie Archibald in April 1969. They were best friends and spent 44 wonderful years together raising a family, traveling, and dreaming.
He loved the outdoors, and his fondest memories were of time spent hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He was the world’s biggest baseball fan and could give you statistics on every team and every player. He loved to watch his daughters play little league when they were young, and continued to enjoy watching his grandsons play the game as well.
Rick always had a story to tell and was able to bring a smile to any face. His quick wit and unique sense of humor left an impression on every person he met. Rick was a loving husband, supportive father, and very proud grandpa. He was surrounded by his family through his last moments.
Rick is survived by his wife Cherie, four beautiful daughters, Bobette (Ron) Griffiths, Aimee Kirwan, Shanna Kirwan, and Jessica (Kellen) Williams; as well as his eight wonderful grandchildren: Morgan, Allison, and Jon Griffiths; Keawe, Makana, and Kupono Sabate; Isaiah Kirwan; and Alexander Williams. Rick was always deeply loved and has been immensely proud of all his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments.
Graveside services will be held at the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery west of Blackfoot on Friday, May 31, 2013, at 1p.m.
Funeral arrangements are being organized by Relyea Funeral Chapel in Boise (208) 344-4441
