Renae Marshall Faler, 76
Renae Faler passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, in Blackfoot. Mom started life in Rigby, born on Aug. 29, 1935 to Alta and William Marshall.
After graduating from high school Mom took a job at the courthouse in Rigby. Soon after she met and married Don Faler of St. Anthony. They were married July 6, and her most important job was underway. Mom and Dad were only married a short time when they started a family. Kristy, Kathy, Kelly, Mike and Patty joined the family to keep her busy. Mom and Dad’s house kept getting busier when the grandkids started coming. Among Mom’s favorite things were her grandkids and great-grandkids. The naughtier they were for their parents the more she laughed.
Mom and Dad’s marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in 1968. Mom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and went to church each week and held many positions, her favorites being Primary president and Relief Society president. Mom and Dad traveled all over the world on business and pleasure including Alaska, Europe, Italy, Germany, the Caribbean and Mexico.
They even were brave enough to take their whole family to Hawaii and numerous trips to California. As a family we spent most of our summers in Island Park. It didn’t matter if we were home or camping; we always had home cooked meals and the best homemade fudge.
Mom was preceded in death by our Dad, her parents, her sister Marleen, and her brother Terry. She is survived by her children Kristy Alvord of Idaho Falls; Kathy Fisher, Kelly Faler, Mike (Lori) Faler, and Patty (Scott) Coffey of Blackfoot; brothers Neldon (Verda) , Don (Ann) and Doyle (Ila) Marshall; grandkids Heather (Mike) Cossaboom, Ryan (Angie) Faler, Jordan (Rhett) Elkins, Chase Faler, Dane Faler, Mason Coffey and Lucas Coffey. Mom also had 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for our mom, Renae Faler will be held Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 at Hawker Funeral Home. There will be a viewing at 10 a.m. with funeral services starting at 11.
