Police make big pot bust

BLACKFOOT — Blackfoot Police arrested a California woman early Sunday after a traffic stop revealed she had 10 pounds of marijuana in her trunk.
Blackfoot Police Capt. Kurt Asmus said an officer stopped Rose S. Gibson, 56, of Nevada City, Calif., on Meridian Street for speeding just after midnight Sunday. Asmus said it became apparent to the officer that Gibson was in possession of marijuana and the police K9 unit was called in to search the vehicle. Officers located more than 10 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of her vehicle. Gibson was arrested and booked into the Bingham County Jail.
If sold by the ounce, the 10 pounds of marijuana carries a street value of $30,000-35,000.
