Last year, the government sequestration shut down the Pocatello Airport's annual "Airport Appreciation Days." So, this year, airport officials are making up for it by hosting a bigger and better event: "SkyFest" this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"We have really stepped it up this year. We want to offer an event that will expose the community to the airport environment," said Pocatello's airport manager, David Allen. "This will be an exciting "open house" type of event with something for everyone."
The air show will feature the MiG Fury Fighters as the headliner from 1-2 p.m. While the air show is free, there will be other aviation opportunities at minimal costs including helicopter discovery flights for $35, airplane discover flights for $25 and "vintage aircraft flights" starting at $250.
