Peggy Susan Hermansen, 71, of Blackfoot passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 8, 1941 in Blackfoot, the daughter of Robert Harker Cook and Mildred Lucille Hopla Cook.
She graduated from Snake River High School in 1959.
On Dec. 16, 1960, she married Martin Hermansen in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Peggy was raised in Thomas, and has lived in Massachusetts; Philadelphia; Hampton and Norfolk, Va.; and Great Lakes, IL, all while Martin was serving in the Navy.
Peggy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was called to served in the name extraction program in March 1981 and faithfully served for over 29 years.
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and counted cross stiching.
She is survived by her husband, Martin of Moreland and two daughters, Valarie Sue (Terry) Jensen of Pleasant Grove, Utah and Laura Kaye Pierce of Meridian; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant brothers; Lloyd Robert and Alburn J. and her sister, Jane Keller.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday May 8, 2013 at the Moreland LDS Church with a viewing one hour prior to the service.
The family will meet with friends on May 7, from 7-9 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave.
Interment will be in the Moreland Cemetery.
