Panthers humble Redskins

Martin Hrabik gains control of the orange along the baseline during second half action at Snake River High School on Tuesday night.

THOMAS — Usually, during the course of a game there is one pivotal moment, a game changing play that defines the course and outcome of the game. On Tuesday evening, that moment may have been the Star Spangled Banner, the player introductions, or the opening tip for that matter. The game was never in doubt as Snake River led from wire-to-wire for a 68-36, mercy rule shortened, non-conference victory.
"We shot the ball outside better tonight," Snake River head coach Bob Coombs said. "Sometimes it's hard to keep the kids' focus in a game like this but not tonight because we put in a couple of wrinkles for the kids to work on and tonight gave us a little better opportunity to work on them rather than in practice and I thought that we did okay."
Senior point guard, Keegan Keller led the charge on Tuesday night as he did his best John Stockton impersonation by dishing out 8 assists, and knocking down 3 treys in limited minutes due to the running clock and the large lead.
Fellow senior Tyler Roll turned in his best performance of the year, coming off the bench for 7 rebounds for the Panthers while scoring 4 points in the paint for Snake River.
"Tyler played a little better under control tonight which was one of the better games that I've seen him play," coach Coombs said. "We just need to keep him doing that."
Also of note was the workman like efforts from C.J. Toulouse who led all scorers on the night with 12-points and 8 rebounds.
"We're headed in the right direction, we are right were we need to be, I think." Coach Coombs concluded.
Snake River will celebrate 7 seniors on Friday night when they host American Falls for a conference clash at 7:30 P.M.
