Orva LaRee Park, 90, of Blackfoot, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 to join her husband, Danny, after 45 years.
She was born April 7, 1922 in Blackfoot to Ernest Otto and Mary Jane Simper Lilya.Â During World War II she moved to California and worked as a switchboard operator.
On July 28, 1944 she married â€śDannyâ€ť Myron Earl Park in Temple, Texas.Â Their marriage was solemnized in the in the Salt Lake City, Utah LDS Temple on March 13, 1946.Â They made their home in the Groveland-Rose area.Â Danny preceded Orva in death in 1967 and in1974 she moved her family from Groveland to Blackfoot.
Â She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all her life, serving in many capacities.Â She served in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.Â Orva was also active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for many years.
Orva worked many years at the Bingham Memorial Hospital, mostly in medical records as a transcriptionist.Â
She is survived by three sons: Jay (Priscilla) Park of Shelley, Kevin (Sheila) Park of Aberdeen, Blake Park of Blackfoot; 22 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Grace Lilya of Blackfoot.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Dennis; daughter, Charlene and three brothers, Marvin, Freeman and Claude Lilya.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012, at the Blackfoot 6th Ward LDS Chapel.Â The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Hawker Funeral Home and again for one hour prior to service at the church.Â Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery.
