Melody Andersen, 60
Melody Andersen, 60, of Brigham City, Utah passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Willow Glen Health and Rehabilitation of natural causes.
Melody was born May 2, 1953 in Riverton, Wyo. to Theo D. Andersen and Elaine Mae John.Â She was raised in Rockford, Idaho.Â She graduated from Snake River High School in 1971 and went on to attend the LDS Business College, moved to Utah and then to Chicago before moving back to Idaho in 2010.Â She was living in Brigham City at the time of her death.
Melody was a cheerful person and had the ability to convey her love for people. She was a well- respected and nationally recognized sales person. She began her sales career with PCA International, Inc. which operates photo studios in retail stores. She was also one of the top sales people for Butterfield Ford while in Utah and worked at a title company while in Chicago.
She always had a couple of cats that she loved and cared for like her children. Melody had a beautiful soprano voice and played the piano. She was an avid reader of science fiction, among other genres, and enjoyed watching movies.
Melody was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Â She served as a visiting teacher andÂ had served asÂ an organist in the Chicago, Illinois LDS Temple.
She is survived by her brothers, DarVel (Marilyn) Andersen of Thomas, Idaho and DeWayne (Rebecca) Andersen of Kansas City, Missouri; and sisters, DiAnn (Ken) Bunderson of Tremonton, Utah and Janet (Roger) Pryor of Denver, Colo. Melody was also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she admired and loved very much. She always made them feel very loved and important when they came to visit.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by two nephews.
Melody was loved by her ward family in Brigham City. They admired her courage in facing difficulties. Her family would like to thank them for being thereÂ to supportÂ her during the last two years of her life, particularly her visiting teacher, Maizie Crays and her visiting teaching partner, Annette Hadfield.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Thomas LDS Chapel.Â Family will meet with friends and relatives from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot and for one hour prior to services at the church.Â Interment will follow at the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
