Mayoral candidates address hot topics

October 29, 2013

BLACKFOOT—Economic development, city beautification, a railroad overpass (or underpass) and working with education were the dominant topics addressed by Blackfoot's six mayoral candidates at a "Meet the Candidates" forum at the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center on Tuesday night.
About 100 people attended the forum to hear candidates Carlos Martinez, John Hoobler, Paul Loomis, Carlos Mercardo, Rick Bigler and Dan Cravens address a series of questions presented by moderators Blackfoot Mayor Mike Virtue and businessman Gordon Wankier, branch manager of Blackfoot's Zions Bank.
See Wednesday's Morning News to find out what they said they want to do as mayor.
