Louis (Luis) Uriona, 85, of Blackfoot, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at The Coventry in Cottonwood Heights, Utah from causes incident to age.
He was born June 11, 1928 in Fordsen, Mich. to Jose and Louisa Uriona.
He attended school in Viscaya, Spain for two years.Â He also attended schools in Pocatello, Wapello Grade School and graduated from Blackfoot High School.
In 1948, he married Estella J. Cooper at Kimball, Idaho.Â They lived in Wapello and raised their five children.
He worked on the farm in Wapello raising hay, grain, sugar beets and potatoes.Â He worked at various potato warehouses in Firth and Blackfoot.Â Louis worked full time at Sunspiced as a potato buyer and Basic American potato plant in Blackfoot for 32 years.
He enjoyed many outdoor activities with his family and friends.
Louis is survived by his wife, Estella of Cottonwood Heights, Utah; children, Garth Uriona of Midvale, Utah; Gary Uriona of Portland, Ore.; Craig Uriona of Denver, Colo.; James and wife Lora Uriona of Shelley, and Cindy Uriona ofÂ Cottonwood Heights, Utah; brother, Jose Blas Uriona of Brigham City, Utah; 13 grandchildren â€” Chelsea, Lynsi, Miles, Andrea, Evan, Louisa, Nicole, Trevor, Nicholas, Samuel, Joe, Hakan and Sophia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Louisa Uriona; and one granddaughter, Aja Ann Uriona.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.
