Local football players raising funds for breast cancer

October 17, 2013

Morning News — Leslie Mielke Cody Pearson, a wide receiver and safety for the Blackfoot Broncos, picked up his bag of "pink" items that will be worn by the Bronco's team during the Blackfoot vs. Madison game this Friday.

It's the "Buck Bowl" this Friday, featuring the Blackfoot Broncos vs. the Madison Bobcats.
Stan Buck is the coach of the Broncos football team; his brother, Mitch Buck, coaches the Bobcats.
This contest is also used to raise funds for breast cancer awareness.
Football moms Tawni Lewis and Karen Hoskins came up with this idea four years ago. Originally, the plan was to honor breast cancer survivor Kim Buck who is Stan Buck's wife.
"Now, each year Kim Buck selects three local women who are going through breast cancer treatments," said Lewis.
All proceeds will be divided equally among the three local women. Different ladies are selected each year.
