Leo Thomas Cerino, 74, of Blackfoot passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at The Willows in Blackfoot.
Â Leo was born July 6, 1938 to Columbo Cerino and Esther Judith Madzeweyu.Â Leo was raised in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School.Â He attended barber school in Dallas, Texas, and moved to Arizona where he lived for over 40 years, with his companion, Agnes Soliz, before returning home to live in Idaho.
Â Leo married Gay Cutler and theyÂ divorced.Â He later married Joyce Ballard and they later divorced.
Â He worked as a barber in Arizona.Â In his free time he enjoyed rodeoing professionally, calf roping, team roping and was a world champion calf roper and heeler.
Â Leo is survived by sister, Lupe Carol (Grover) Yellowbird of North Dakota; brother David Cerino of Fort Hall; grandchildren Sherri Rae Cerino and Dillon Hawk, both of Fort Hall; Nieces Caroline Dixey and Robin Matsaw, both of Fort Hall, and many other family members.
Â Leo was preceded in death by his parents; son, Silas Vincent Cerino; brothers, Robert, Dominick and Clifford; and a baby brother; sisters, baby sister, Betty Cerino and Pat Sabori.
Â Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at the St. Bernardâ€™s Catholic Church, 584 West Sexton in Blackfoot.Â Traditional burial will follow at the Ross Fork Creek Cemetery in Fort Hall. A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. on Jan. 15, 2013 at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot.Â
