Jerry Bart Windous, 49, of Blackfoot passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, at his home from a lingering illness.
Jerry was born March 20, 1963 in Ely, Nev., to Jerry Franklin Windous and Louise Laneve Hunt.Â He graduated in 1981 from Owyhee High School in Owyhee, Nev.Â He lived many different places, including Wildhorse, Sunnyside and Baker, Nev., moving to Moreland in 1999.
On Aug. 20, 1983 Jerry married Brenda Hood in Wildhorse, Nev.Â
He was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church.Â He also was involved with the Grove City Lodge #33 AF&AM, Esther #14 Order of the Eastern Star and was a past council member of Jobs Daughters #46 in Blackfoot.
Â Jerry worked as a mechanic.Â There wasnâ€™t an engine he couldnâ€™t fix.Â He worked at Newmont Gold in Carlin, Nev., for 16 years, Simplot in Aberdeen for four years and has been self-employed since 1999.Â In his free time he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, canning tomato soup and pickling asparagus.Â He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Brenda of Moreland; daughters, Misty (Steve) Sevy and Amy Windous; parents, Jerry F. and Lois Windous; brother, Darin (Sue) Windous; sisters, Carrie (Bruce) Winkelkotter and Sidonna (Brian) Kidwell; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Bryce.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1110 Parkway Drive in Blackfoot, with Reverend John Stevens officiating.Â Family will meet with friends and relatives for one hour prior to services at the church.Â A luncheon will be held at the church following the service.Â
Family is under the care of Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot.Â
