ITD seeks comment on Rose/Firth exit
An Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) open house drew a steady stream of people into Blackfoot City Hall Thursday to view and comment on four potential improvement options for the Rose Interchange (Exit 98 - the Rose/Firth area exit.).
Adam Rush, the ITD's public involvement coordinator, said that the department has taken a closer look at the ramp after a routine infrastructure check and believe that, based on its wear and tear and anticipated growth in the area, the interchange could potentially be included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP) for 2018.
"This interchange has reached the end of its service life," Rush said. "It doesn't provide enough clearance for interstate traffic and the configuration of on and off ramps create some safety concerns. "
