Gladys Bethal Rogers, 90, of Blackfoot, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at
Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
Gladys was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Rockford to William Albert Blair and Uva Claypool. She lived her lifetime in the Blackfoot area. She attended school in Sterling, Grandview and in Ely, Nev. She was the state champion in Ely for running the hurdles.
Gladys married Jake Martin in Blackfoot. Together they had six children â€” William, Jake Jr., Steve, Connie, Doris and Dian. After Jake passed away, Gladys married Bob Rodgers in Elko, Nev. After Bob passed away, Gladys married Kenneth â€śBlackieâ€ť Rogers in Las Vegas, Nev.
In her free time Gladys enjoyed household plants, horse collecting, going to auto races, camping, fishing and watching the Utah Jazz play basketball.
Gladys is survived by her son, William Albert (Kathy) Martin of West Jordan, Utah; daughters, Doris Lee White of Arizona and D. Dian Ott of Nevada; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
-Gladys was preceded in death by her husbands, Jake Martin, Bob Rodgers and Kenneth â€śBlackieâ€ť Rogers; sons, Jake Jr. Martin and Steve Darrell Martin; daughter, Connie; brother, Darrel Albert Blair; sisters, Oliva Bedwell and Laura Berg; and grandson, Nicolas Martin.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. Condolences may be sent to the family at firstname.lastname@example.org.
