Fundraiser scheduled for Bingham County Search & Rescue

A fundraiser is planned for the Bingham County Search & Rescue. A lobster dinner is scheduled on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Elks Lodge in Blackfoot. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; dinner will start at 6:30 p.m. 
"We are shipping in lobster from Maine for this fundraiser," said organizer Mike Fresh. "For those who don't like lobster, they will be served rib eye steak." 
Lots of activities are planned, including a raffle and silent auction.
High quality goods will be auctioned, said Fresh. These include hunting gear and clothes.
Some of the prizes include half a beef, guns and tools. The bonus prize is anticipated to be a gun safe. 
A live auction and drawing of the raffle will be after dinner.
Tickets are $45 single; $75 for a couple. If purchased in advanced, a person (or couple) can get $100 worth of raffle tickets for $70. If this option entices you, ticket prices (with the raffle tickets) cost $115 single or $145 couple. 
Proceeds will go to the Bingham County Search & Rescue. 
With the proceeds, the volunteers plan to purchase: 
° updated equipment for land searches and scuba diving searches 
° two-way radios for mountain searches 
° training for volunteers 
° purchase medical supplies 
The Bingham County Search & Rescue is a subsidiary of the Bingham County Sheriff's office. It is a volunteer organization that does not charge for its services.

The deadline to purchase tickets is Thursday, Jan. 9, so the lobster can be ordered.
