Frances Navo, 91
Frances Navo, 91, of Gibson passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
She was born Feb. 10, 1922 in Fort Hall, the daughter of Isaac Sandy, a descendant of Boise Valley, and Mary Fisher Sandy.Â She was a great-granddaughter of Captain Jim.
She was raised in the Gibson and Fort Hall area.Â She attended Sherman Boarding School in Riverside, Calif.
She married Richard C. Navo in Gibson in 1940. He preceded her in death in 1985.
She was a member of Jehovahâ€™s Witnesses.
Frances began working French' in Shelley, which later changed to Pillsbury Co.Â She retired in 1992. She also worked at various potato warehouses as a laborer.Â She worked on various committees for the Sho-Ban Tribes.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, bead working, reading, cooking, traveling, sight-seeing, Bingo and attending celebrations.Â She also loved to be around her friends and families and was very hospitable.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy Navo, Larry (Nadine) Navo, Dexter (Karen) Navo, Richard W. Navo, Wren Navo, all of Gibson; three foster sons, Rodney March, Lyle March and Rulon March, all of Fort Hall; daughters, Elizabeth Navo (Jack Byington) and Corey J. Navo. all of Gibson;Â Â nieces, Zelphia Towersap and Mercelina Boyer, nephew, Irving Pokibro and many grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents,;husband Richard; two daughters, Gloria Moore and Myrna Lou Gomez; brother, Everett Sandy and sisters, Genevieve Sandy Shay and Josephine Sandy Pokibro.
Family met with friends at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 at the Hawker Funeral Home followed by a Prayer service at 7 p.m.Â She was then taken to the family home 300 S. Sandy Rd. on Monday morning until time of the service on Tuesday.
A traditional burial will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at the Gibson Cemetery.
