Blackfoot's first baby of the year couldn't wait to get here. Baby Naomi Baye Rowbury was born six weeks early to become the first baby of 2013 born at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
Naomi was born at 3:25 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.
She weighed five pounds, 10 ounces, and was 18 1/2 inches long. She has light brown hair.
Naomi is the first child of her parents, Jack and Loretta Rowbury, and the first grandchild of her paternal grandparents, Miriam and Paul Rowbury.
She is grandchild number five on her mother's side. Both of her mother's parents, Ron and Rhonda Birt, are deceased.
"I'm a little sore," said Loretta, who had 12 1/2 hours of labor before delivering baby Naomi.
Because Naomi was born six weeks early, she was taken by ambulance Wednesday evening to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) to have her lungs checked.
