Dayle V. Harris Merrill Gough Augustine, 94, of Pocatello, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 at the Monte Vista Hills Healthcare Center in Pocatello.
She was born April 12, 1919 in Hazelton to Jabez Marion Harris and Etta Lucinda Van Luevan Harris.
Â Dayle married Windsor C. Merrill in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Â To this union a daughter, Lynda Dayle (Michael) Daney and a son, Cluff I (Caroline) Merrill were born.Â They later divorced She had a daughter, DiAnn (Mark) Kearn.Â She married Elmer H. Gough and to this union a son, Brent H. Gough and a daughter, Dena Kay (Max) Herrera was born. Elmer preceded her in death.Â She then married Stan Augustine.
Dayle loved to ride her horse and shoot her .22 rifle.Â She worked hard all of her life raising her family.Â She cooked for thrashers and did many trail drives, cooking for the men.Â She was a dietician at St. Anthony Hospital.Â She also worked for Dr. Mc Innos, Call and Merkley.Â She was the greatest waitress anyone could ever have.Â She rode snow machines and cut wood for winter with her love, Stan.Â She and Stan took care of both her parents until their passing.Â
Dayle was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Dena Kay; son Cluff; grandson, Wayne; and four brothers, Cecil, Otis, Milton and Irwin Harris.
She is survived by her daughter Lynda Dayle (Michael) Daney and son Brent H. Gough; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren.Â Thank you mom, for all you have done for us.Â We love you so.Â You're always near and never forgotten.
Â A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Groveland Cemetery under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.
