Damien Joseph Young, 22

September 13, 2011

Damien Joseph Young 22, of Blackfoot, passed away Sept. 9, 2011 peacefully at his home. Damien was born June 18, 1989, the youngest of four children born to Stan and Jody Anderson Young.
Throughout his life Damien attended schools in both Blackfoot and Snake River and had many friends. Damien was a unique individual. He had the biggest heart of gold and loved everyone in his life with all that he had. He was the most loving, loyal, honest person that you will ever meet. He found the good in everyone and didn’t judge anyone; instead he helped them as much as he possibly could.
Damien was an animal lover and throughout his life had many animals, all of which he loved as if they were a family member. He also loved astronomy and spent many nights with his telescope looking at planets and learning about astronomy with his father. He also loved fishing, a passion instilled in him by his mother. You could find him on any number of banks yearlong.
He loved family barbeques and enjoying a good Budweiser. He spent most of the time he wasn’t at work playing video games, XBox being his favorite, and he was good.
But before all of his hobbies to Damien his family came first. He had a bond with all of his family that words cannot describe.  He was our rock!
In 2004 Damien became employed at Idaho Classic Landscaping. He spent six years at this job and loved every minute of it. He had often talked about wanting to make a career out of it and someday open his own business. At the time of his death he was employed at Nonpariel and did very well there as well. Next week he was looking forward to finally buying a Dodge pickup, which was a dream come true to him, and he was very proud of himself.
Damien leaves behind his father, Stanley Young; sister, Destiny Davis; brothers, Andrew and Derick (Ashlie) Young; nieces, Abigail, Caylee and Mia; nephews, Braedyn, Jaeden and Thayne; maternal grandmother, Julita Anderson and many cousins, aunts and uncles. He also leaves behind two lifelong friends whom he considered brothers, Matt Young and Mortier Stone.
Damien was preceded in death by his mother, Jody Young; paternal grandparents Theo and Marge Young; and maternal grandfather, Ray Anderson and uncle Stacy Young.
In accordance with Damien’s wishes no viewing or funeral will be conducted. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at the family residence, 617 W. 350 N. The family asks that all who knew Damien please come and join us in celebrating the amazing person he was.
His family would like to thank everyone who has extended yourself to us in our time of need. The support has been amazing.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at condolences@hawkerfuneralhome.com.
