Cougars roll Bulldogs

January 19, 2013

Firth's Luis Avila (3) fires a pass to an unseen teammate while Ririe's Jordan Hill (11) and Austin Zeller (1) and the Cougars' Quinn Alvey prepare for the outcome of the play.

FIRTH — Using a quick start on offense and a stingy defense, Firth buried Ririe 63-20 in Nuclear Conference boys basketball action on Friday.
Dallan Bingham had four of his team high 15 points during a 10-0 run in the first 84 seconds of play. The Cougars had a 24-4 advantage after one quarter and led 41-11 at the half.

"Tonight was a good chance for our kids to get a lot of minutes and everyone played well," said Firth coach Scott Adams.
"We played good defense, both in our man-to-man and our zone," Adams continued. "We only had one junior come out so I had to pull up three sophomores. They're playing well and our seniors are going a good job of providing leadership. Everyone is playing at a good level. I'm proud of the way the kids are coming along."
Nine players scored for the Cougars (2-0 Nuclear Conference, 10-8) with Kent Jolley joining Bingham in double figures with 13.
Jordan Hill led the Bulldogs, (0-3, 1-14) with seven points.
Firth will play next on Thursday when it travels to North Fremont for another league game.
