Cornell Harold Baxter, Jr, 56, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He was born March 20, 1954 in Blackfoot, Idaho the son of Cornell Harold Baxter, Sr. and Shirley A. Christensen.
Cornell has lived his entire life in Blackfoot and attended schools in the Blackfoot District.
He married Dee Williams, together they had a daughter, Courtney and then were later divorced.
He was a welder and a member of the Sheet Metals Workers Union. He had worked the last ten years for Industrial Metals.
He was a longtime member of the Bingham County Search and Rescue. He loved hunting, fishing, four wheeling, snow machining, camping, shoeing horses. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by daughter, Courtney (Cody) Christensen of Pocatello, Idaho; grandchildren, Cameron, Zoe, Kellie. his mother, Shirley (Sam) Cucchiara of Blackfoot; father, Cornell (Rosie) Baxter, Sr. of New Mexico; brother, Loren Baxter of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Terry (Greg) Carmichael of Blackfoot, Cindy (Doug) Schwenck of Ogden, Utah; fiancĂ©, Michelle Gibson, of Blackfoot and her children Coltin (Brandi) Jackman of Shelley, Idaho and Dustin Jackman of Ammon, Idaho;
He was preceded in death by his step father, Max Spidell and a sister, Vickie Spidell.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2010 at Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Bingham County Search and Rescue, 501 N. Maple St.,Blackfoot, Idaho 83221.
