BLACKFOOT — Regardless of the temperature readings, Blackfoot was the hot spot to be Thursday night as hundreds of music fans from throughout the region converged to Club El Centenario for concert performances by popular bands All American Rejects, Boys Like Girls and Parachute.
Fans from as far away as Salt Lake City, began lining up outside of the club as early as 1:30 p.m. to ensure a place close to the stage, for the show that started at 7:30 p.m.
"I'm a stalker of All American Rejects," joked Erica Saldana of Layton, UT, who held the coveted first place in line. "I go to all of their concerts if I can. You could say, I'm 'a very avid fan.' "
A group of teens from St. Anthony arrived at 2:30 p.m. to wait in line, saying they are big fans of Parachute and Boys Like Girls.
The teens dressed warmly in coats, hats and gloves and brought blankets to snuggle as they waited for the doors to open at 6:00 p.m.p.m. However, they admitted, they had to go sit in their cars with the heaters cranked occasionally to stay warm. The group said they made new friends while they waited in line and were courteous to one another, sharing snacks and helping to save each other's place in line.
Concert promoter, Adam Slavens, of Red Tie Concerts in Idaho Falls, said he is very pleased with the tickets sales for this trio of bands. "It was basically a sell-out," he said. "I'm very excited."
