Christopher W. Seratt, 23, of Blackfoot, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle rollover.
Chris was born Oct. 11, 1988 in Blackfoot to Richard Wayne Seratt,II and Sirrinda Lee Gerstlauer. He was raised in the Blackfoot area and attended schools in the Blackfoot and Snake River districts.
Chris had worked at the Central Transfer Station and for Modern Steel Buildings. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed fishing, mud bogging, hunting, riding motorcycles, snowboarding and chasing girls. He especially enjoyed going snowmobiling with grandfather.
Chris is survived by his mother and stepfather Sirrinda and Raymond Cook of Blackfoot; father, Richard of Idaho Falls; a sister Jessica Gerstlauer; half-brother, Brandon Seratt; and step-sister Cassandra Seratt, all of Blackfoot; grandparents; Harrison (Shirleys) Gerstlauer of Riverside; Richard Seratt I of Portland, Ore.; and Melodie (Bruce) Johnson of Coos Bay, Ore.; and uncle Richard Gerstlauer of Blackfoot; 2 aunts, Dorothy (Jeff) Borup of Boise, and Sindy (Jerry) Hunter of Blackfoot; 6 cousins, Rebecca Gerstlauer of Blackfoot, Adam Borup, Travis Borup, Kimberly Borup, all of Boise; Cammie (Scott) Colvin of Yelm, Wash.; Timothy Hunter of Blackfoot; and a niece and nephew Ariel and Jeremy Gerstlauer, both of Blackfoot.
He was preceded in death by one cousin, Justin Hunter.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 at Hawker Funeral Home.
The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 and again for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2012 in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
