Christine Ann Nelson Sirstins, 43, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away July 12, 2013 after a brave battle with cancer. Christine was born on March 11, 1970, in Provo, Utah, to Wayne and Sue Nelson. She was the oldest of four children. She grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho, graduating from Blackfoot High School. She continued her education and graduated from BYU. She served a mission for the LDS Church to the Netherlands.
Christine married John Joseph Sirstins on Dec. 14, 1995 in the Salt Lake Temple and spent eighteen wonderful years together and those that knew them knew they were meant for each other. They had three children, Hannah 15, Isaac 13, and Josh 10. She was a member of the LDS church and served faithfully in many church callings but her most important calling was as a mother.
She is survived by her husband, John Joseph Sirstins of SLC and their three children. Her parents, Wayne and Sue Nelson, brother, Brad (Angela) Nelson, sisters, Casandra (Carson) Combs and Teri (Christopher) Wilcox. Her Grandfather, Jack W. Kesler, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held in SLC, Ut, on July 17, 2013, at the Canyon Rim Stake Center on 2900 E. 3053 S. at 11.00 AM. The family will meet with friends and family on Tuesday at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S 2300 E, from 6-8 PM and one hour prior to services.
