Charlotte Hagar, 71
BLACKFOOT - Our wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Charlotte Wilson Hagar, 71, passed away quietly on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Bingham Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Born on September 16, 1939 in Pocatello, the daughter of Thomas and Kathryn Wilson.Â She attended Pocatello Schools, graduating from Pocatello High School in 1957.
She was married in August, 1958 to LaMar Hagar.Â The couple moved to Blackfoot that same year and have resided here since.Â The couple had three children: John, James and David.
She worked for the Blackfoot School District #55 for nearly 40 years, serving as a secretary at Elmwood and Wapello Schools before graduating with a degree in elementary education from Idaho State University and taught for 20 years (1981-2001) in the Blackfoot School District, teaching sixth grade.
During her life Charlotte enjoyed a number of activities including golf, where she served as President of the Blackfoot Womenâ€™s Golf Association several times, and she won a number of City Championships. She also enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, particularly around the holidays, teaching children, reading, sewing, gardening, her dogs and her involvement in both the Blackfoot Education Association where she served as President, and the Idaho Education Association, where she served on a number of committees and regional councils.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, LaMar; three sons: John, James (Jennifer) and David (Penny); two sisters, Judith Wilson Ross (Ed) and Kathy Wilson (Keith), one brother Steve Wilson and 10 grandchildren (Justin, Kristen, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Joe, Sierra, Jessica, Cody, Taylor and Emily).
To honor her wishes, no funeral services will be held.Â In lieu of gifts or flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Blackfoot School District # 55, 270 E. Bridge Street, Blackfoot, Idaho 83221.
