Broncos tip Knights 30-20

November 3, 2012

Colby Pearson battles the Bishop Kelly defender during the Broncos quarterfinal match up with the Knights on Friday night.

BLACKFOOT – In what proved to be a heavyweight slugfest the Blackfoot Broncos prevailed on Friday evening as they overcame a key injury by leaning on their vaunted rushing attack for a 30-20 victory over the Knights of Bishop Kelly in the Class 4A state playoffs.
“A great win,” Blackfoot coach Stan Buck said. “Bishop Kelly is a very physical team and we knew that coming in. Our kids stepped up and we started making some plays and, like I told them after the game, what an outstanding effort in the second half. To come out without Alonzo and run the ball, get in the end zone and play better defense like we did was big.”
