Broncos romp 38-8 over Tigers
BLACKFOOT-The Blackfoot Bronco football team opened up their season against the 5A Idaho Falls Tigers Friday night and looked in mid season form as they crushed the Tigers 38-8.

Gallegos capped off the oepning drive as he ran it in for the first touchdown of the night and after the PAT the score stood at 7-0.
On the ensuing Tiger possession of the ball, senior Colton Dance caught an interception on the 35 yard line gaining the ball back for the Broncos with good field position.
The Broncos took advantage of the Tiger miscue at the start of the second quarter as Luis Oseguera kicked a field goal putting the Broncos up 10-0.
Blackfoot then recovered the ball again after a forced fumble from the Tigers.
With 10:13 left Gallegos ran the ball for a 16 yard touchdown making the score 17-0.
The Broncos were not done yet in the first half as Pilster connected with Colby Pearson for a 36-yard touchdown strike at 3:27 left of the second quarter giving the Broncos a commanding 24-0 lead.
Pearson eventually scored again this time from the six yard line with :35 left and as the Broncos sprinted to the locker room, they led 31-0 at the end of the first half.
Strong Blackfoot defensive play continued into the third quarter as they forced a turnover on downs, keeping the Tigers at bay in a quarter that saw no scoring.
Blackfoot capped off their scoring on the night when Pilster started off the fourth quarter with a pitch to Gallegos who ran a two yard touchdown to make it 38-0.
Later with 7:58 on the clock senior James Wislodowski intercepted the ball on their own 20 yard line.
The Tigers snuck past the Bronco defense with 1:11 left of the game to gain a touchdown and a two point conversion 38-8, but not quick enough to take the win from the Blackfoot Broncos.
“They did awesome. The kids are very coach-able and they played solid,” head coach Stan Buck said.
The Broncos went into the game with a few doubts from spectators with going up against Idaho Falls but showed the skills that the Broncos have.
“You always have to come in with the idea that they are a good team and you have to play hard. We do what we got to do and the kids fit in. The coaching staff has been working together for a while now and so we are learning what to expect from each other to,” Buck said.
Blackfoot (1-0) will play again next Friday at Skyline.
